Decoration transforms a standard glass bottle into a brand asset. It can change color, control reflection, add texture and position logos with far greater precision than a generic label. The right process, however, depends on bottle geometry, artwork, order quantity, product environment and the level of durability required.

Color spraying
Color spraying applies a controlled coating to the glass surface. It supports transparent tints, gradients, opaque colors, soft-touch effects and different gloss levels. Spraying is suitable when a brand needs broad color coverage or wants to coordinate several bottle sizes in one visual system.
Specify a color reference, transparency, finish and coverage area. Samples should be checked for evenness around shoulders and bases, dust contamination, scratches and color consistency between production batches.
Frosting
Frosting reduces transparency and creates a soft, diffused appearance. It can give clear glass a more tactile, understated character and works well with minimalist skincare, fragrance and home-fragrance designs.
Confirm whether the project requires a full frosted surface or a selective effect. Because frosted surfaces may show handling marks differently from clear glass, evaluate the finished bottle after filling and packing trials.
Screen printing
Screen printing places ink directly on the bottle and is commonly used for logos, product names and functional information. It provides a clean integrated result without a separate label. One or multiple colors may be possible depending on the artwork and bottle shape.
The printable area is affected by curvature and changes in diameter. Fine lines, small text and registration between colors should be reviewed on a physical sample. Provide vector artwork whenever possible.
Hot stamping
Hot stamping adds a metallic or pigmented foil detail, often used for logos, borders or premium accents. Gold, silver and other tones can create a strong point of focus when used with restraint.
Foil performance depends on the underlying coating, artwork area and surface geometry. Test adhesion and edge definition, especially when stamping over sprayed or frosted finishes.
Ceramic decoration and firing
Ceramic or fired decoration is selected when a durable printed result is required. The decoration becomes highly resistant after controlled heating, but the process has specific color and artwork limitations. It should be evaluated early when resistance is more important than a very broad color range.
Carving, lettering and molded detail
Raised or recessed branding can be created through mould design, while surface carving or lettering can add tactile detail after forming. Molded logos are most suitable for custom-bottle projects because they are built into the glass design. Confirm minimum line widths, readability and mould feasibility before tooling.
Combining decoration methods
Several processes can be combined—for example, a translucent spray with screen printing and a small hot-stamped logo. The sequence matters because each layer must adhere to the one below it. Ask the supplier to confirm the process order and prepare a representative sample of the complete finish.
A useful rule is to choose one dominant effect and one supporting detail. This keeps the pack premium and reduces visual noise.
